The burgeoning requirement for computer forensic services is a result of the increasing use of computers in all aspects of life. Whilst the vast majority of use is positive and of decided benefit, regrettably it is inevitable that a small proportion is negative, damaging and in some instances possibly illegal. It is imperative that a computer which it is suspected contains contentious material, whether illegal or not, must be examined in such a way that absolutely no alteration is caused to stored data. Such information may become 'evidence' in subsequent legal proceedings, or in disciplinary action, and as with all evidence it must be preserved and protected from all contamination. Our experience and expert knowledge ensure that computer based information is collected (covertly where necessary), examined, analyzed and secured in such a way that it can be used as evidence in a court of law with the provision of expert opinion when required. We can assist in all stages of building a case, including: Determining whether a suspect computer is likely to yield useful data Recovering data that is accessible only through specific forensic techniques Analyzing digital evidence without altering it Working closely with attorneys, investigators or IT professionals to determine relevancy of findings Reviewing and verifying the work of other computer experts Preparing court reports Preparing and presenting expert testimony Types of Cases Employment disputes Theft of intellectual property Discrimination Destruction/alteration of data Unauthorized use of a company computer for personal gain Unauthorized access to a computer system Downloading/distribution of pornographic material Email misuse Internet misuse Sexual harassment Divorce Blackmail Fraud Child abuse Missing persons Murder
