Alberto A. Gutiérrez, R.G., C.P.G., President and C.E.O. of Geolex, Inc., has over 29 years of experience in the fields of hydrogeology and environmental geology. He is a registered professional geologist in 18 states and with the American Institute of Professional Geologists, and has extensive experience as an expert witness in federal and state courts. His expertise includes environmental consulting (i.e., hydrogeology, soil/groundwater cleanup, and cost allocation), evaluation of corporate environmental liabilities in mergers and acquisition cases, and insurance cases regarding environmental coverage. He specializes in determination of industry standards, litigation support, hazardous materials management, and regulatory compliance assessment. He has done extensive work on the fate and transport of contaminants in environmental media, including surface and groundwater, soil vapor, and air.
After working for several years as a program manager for Radian Corporation, Mr. Gutiérrez founded Geoscience Consultants, Ltd. in 1983. By 1992, it had revenues of over $40 million and 450 employees. From its inception to 1994, when the business was sold, Mr. Gutiérrez operated the company as President and CEO. After the sale to BDM (which became TRW, Inc. and is now a part of Northrop Grumman Corp.), he continued as president until 1996 when he founded Geolex, Inc., where he serves as Principal-In-Charge on all projects. extensive experience as a Dispute Resolution Officer, mediator, binding arbitrator in cases involving multiple parties, including government entities, multinational corporations, insurance companies, and commercial clients
coordinated PRP groups in major Superfund cases
