Doug has specialised in forensic accounting for 13 years
and takes instructions on numerous cases a year including:
• commercial disputes
• professional negligence
• personal injury
• fatal accident cases
• matrimonial disputes.
Doug acts for both claimants and defendants and as a
single joint expert.
Doug has given evidence in the High Court and is a
member of the Academy of Experts and the Expert Witness
Institute and is also an accredited expert in the Law Society
Register of Expert Witnesses and The UK Register of
Expert Witnesses.
He regularly lectures to lawyers‘ associations and individual
firms of solicitors on quantum issues and on the subject of
the use of expert witnesses.
Doug is head of litigation support and forensic accounting
at Smith & Williamson Limited and of the firm‘s North
London office.
Aside from his litigation support work, Doug has acted for
owner managed businesses and professional practices,
concentrating on providing business development and
strategic advice. Doug has assisted clients with special
investigations, finance raising and acquisitions and
disposals.
